I am prompting them to sing in the video, but they did it all on their own initially. This isn't the first time this has happened either.
If you haven't watched the Nick Jr. show Wonder Pets, then you won't truly appreciate this video. Here is a link to the theme song on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxlWvE2U0nw. The part you want to hear starts about 2 minutes and 10 seconds in.

Get me to the church on time!
Ah, Sunday mornings. It seems like every Sunday, no matter how early Mike and I get up we are racing the clock to make it to church on time. We do so much prep work on Saturday night so we will have less to do on Sunday morning, but it doesn't matter, we are always rushing to get out the door.
Here's what we do on Saturday night (in addition to making sure the entire house is clean and all laundry is done):
1 - Iron everyone's Sunday clothes
2 - Set out Rhodes cinnamon rolls (quick and easy breakfast that everyone likes)
3 - Pack diaper/entertainment/treat bag, if we are really on the ball
4 - Give Grace a bath and wash and blow dry her hair - she usually gets a bath in the morning, but since I put curlers in her hair on Sunday morning it saves time if her hair is clean and dry when we get her up
Last Sunday we were doing pretty good on time. Mike left early with Benson which left me to finish up the girls and get to church and I had PLENTY of time. But I also had Grace. First she pitched a FIT because I was putting Sabrina's headband in her hair and apparently that isn't allowed. Then she told me she had gone pee-pee and was yelling "change my diaper!" Then she decided that she absolutely couldn't go to church without her puppy purse. I almost let her win with the puppy purse, because by this point I knew we would be late, but I was not going to let her take it into church so I decided it was better to have the showdown at home and not in the church parking lot. She screamed and yelled over half the drive to the church over the puppy. We actually did make it to our seats before church started, barely, but I wasn't in a very churchy mood. But it got better. And I did actually feel the Spirit.
I guess I am recording this whole experience for two reasons:
1 - Because I have hope that some day it won't be this hard to get to church on time and I will forget and this will help me remember what it was like
2 - So that when my kids ask me why they should take their kids to church when it is so hard I can point to this and tell them that I've been there and I know that our family has been blessed from attending church each week

This was after church...good thing she is so cute...

Soccer
On Saturday the kids and I got to go to Aunt Jenny's soccer game since it was pretty close to our house (Mike got to stay home and take a quiz!). Aunt Sarah is also on the same soccer team, but about 8 weeks ago she broke her left arm again, in the same place as earlier this year. After 6 weeks in a cast, her arm still wasn't healing so last week she had surgery to put a metal plate and 8 or so pins to hold the bone together. So hopefully we will be able to watch her play soccer again soon. Anyways, Aunt Jenny played a great game and they won! Grandpa was so nice to let the kids climb all over him and listen to their non-stop chatter. We are looking forward to watching many more soccer games this season.

Grace hanging on Grandpa

I think she had just kicked the ball here...my photog skills need work I know...good thing I have all season to perfect them

Getting ready to catch the ball

What a nice aunt...after playing a game she still had enough energy to carry the kids off the field!

Nothing Much
That sums up what we have been up to lately. With Benson in school every day, our daily activities are mostly the same. Last week on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we got to see Uncle John and Aunt Emily because they evacuated from the Houston area for Hurricane Ike. Thankfully their home was not seriously damaged, but they are still without power. It was great to be able to spend time with them and we are looking forward to seeing them again at Thanksgiving. We had everyone over to our house for dinner last Sunday, these pictures are from after dinner. The kids were in heaven with so many people to play with. They played Going on a Bear Hunt, Red Light, Green Light, Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, and What Time is it?

1 - Uncle John, Aunt Emily, Aunt Sarah and the kiddos playing Going on a Bear Hung, 2 - Aunt Emily, Grace, Uncle John, and Grandma Stacey playing Red Light, Green Light, 3 - Aunt Sarah reading to Benson, 4 - Breeny with her Red Light and Green Light, 5 - Grandpa Jeff had laid down to rest, which our girls took as an open invitation to climb all over him.
This week our weather has been quite nice, trending to more fall-like temperatures, so we have been spending lots of time outside. The kids have also all runny noses and coughs, which I think is due to our change in weather, but nothing serious.
1 - Benson was practicing smiling for his school pictures, we'll see how they turned out..., 2&3 - Grace and Sabrina eating lunch on the patio, 4-6 - Everyone riding their bicycles
They sure are cute kids, which is always good to remember when they are making life more challenging.
One funny story that I wish I had a picture to go with, but I don't, so you'll have to create a mental picture/visualize it. On Thursday, the girls got to go spend the day with Grandma Stacey, but Benson couldn't go because of school. So I told him that he and Mommy would do something special and he wanted to go to Incredible Pizza. We were there when it opened and I think initially we were the only ones there. Benson was running around from game to game, thoroughly enjoying himself and he asked to do a fishing game that is similar to the Showcase Showdown wheel on The Price Is Right. I didn't notice until after I had swiped my card to pay for the game that it cost $2, how ridiculous. But when the wheel stopped on 1000 tickets, I decided that $2 wasn't that much. I seriously had to stand there for 5 minutes while the thing spit out 1000 tickets. Benson was running all over asking to play different games. He could have cared less. Then I had to carry the huge handful of tickets around while we finished playing the other games. Benson had a hard time picking enough toys to use up all those tickets. It's still fun to take our kids to those kind of places because they don't care about tickets and are happy with ANY prizes. I also want to mention how proud I was of Benson for not getting upset at all that he didn't get to go to Grandma's house this time. He is definitely growing up.

Color Tummy
While I was showering this morning the kids were out in the living room watching a show. After I got out, I went and checked on them and Sabrina was sitting on the rocking chair with the Color Wonder markers "coloring" in a book. Color Wonder markers are the ones that only mark on the special paper. Anyways, she wasn't hurting anything so I just left her and went back to my room to clean the bathroom. Less than 10 minutes later I came back out to the living room and this is what I found:

Apparently a real red marker was in the bag with the Color Wonder markers. Bummer. I asked what she was doing and she said, "Color tummy." That she did. The good news is that it was washable, so it all came right off. So now it just makes a cute picture and video.
