On Monday we went to Bartlesville. We went swimming and then set up the Slip 'N Slide in the backyard. Benson has become quite the little fish and now thinks that he is too big for floaties which makes me a nervous wreck. He also really loved the Slip 'N Slide. We did get Grace to go down a few times, but Sabrina wouldn't even get near it.

On Tuesday we went swimming at the pool across the street with some friends from our ward. I have no pictures because it's too hard with just me and the kids. Benson did get a wicked bloody, fat lip when he crashed into the back of his friend Zachary's head when they went down the crazy slide together. Good thing lips heal quickly.
On Wednesday we went to the Air and Space Museum also with some friends from our ward. It's not that impressive, but the kids still enjoyed it and I was happy because it only cost $4. Benson in particular loved it and has been pretending to be a pilot all week. He tells everyone he knows that when you pull the stick back the plane goes up and when you push it forward it goes down. And yes there are only pictures of Benson in the airplanes. That would be because the girls REFUSED to get near any of the planes. But they really loved the puzzles!
On Thursday we went to the library which was significant because the kids got their prizes for the summer reading program. Mike has fond memories of participating in the summer reading program here at the library when he was a little kid. The coupon books that they give out are great! Free hamburger and apple juice from McDonald's, free chicken nuggets from Wendy's, free child admission to the zoo, the aquarium, and the Air and Space Museum. We love the library here, they have the best storytime that we have ever been to. Then we headed to the park for our ward's playgroup. The kids had lots of fun playing on the playground and the splash park.
Finally on Friday we went swimming again, also with friends in the ward. Again Benson refused to wear floaties, but he wanted to go down the slide that was at the pool. I was a little nervous to let him, but he did great. He would come barreling down the slide, hit the water and pop right back up, then he would put his head back under and swim for the side of the pool. That swimming gene must come from his dad!

These kids are sooo cute! It looks like they are having a fun summer. I can't believe that Benson basically taught himself to swim. How amazing is that?!?
I love the slip'n slide pictures, they are great action shots! They are all growing so fast!
Hey ...I'm missing you guys and am going into grannie withdrawal! Could you post some new pictures and video for us? We need something to take our minds off the fact that we're bored and melting in the heat/humidity out here in Texas!
I agree...water is the best thing to fill the summer with. Your kids are growing so fast!
